The backwash valve allows heat exchangers to be backwashed at short intervals without disrupting operation. Changing the flow direction flushes particles out of the heat exchanger. It also prevents biofouling, i.e. the build-up of algae and organic organisms.
The backwash valve provides these benefits without costly production interruptions for mechanical (disassembly) or chemical cleaning. Backwashing can be set for appropriate time intervals, increasing the life of the appliance in an environmentally friendly way.

In many heat exchanger applications, backwashing is an excellent method to prevent fouling. By using our backwash valve – specially developed for heat exchangers – any heat exchanger can easily be equipped with a backwash system. The valve is both easy to use and easy to install. The valve can be used in all industrial heat exchanger applications where the fluids contain particles or fibers, and is particularly suitable in cooling systems where low quality water is used.
