Örnalp Unozon specializes in designing, engineering and manufacturing tubular heat exchangers. This type of heat exchanger can withstand extremely high pressures and temperatures and therefore has many applications.

Our specialty is manufacturing tube heat exchangers with dual materials – often titanium on the tube side and carbon steel on the shell side.
The thermal calculations needed to design the most advantageous shell and tube heat exchanger for each installation are performed by our thermal engineers in HTRI software. To be able to perform this, we need a number of parameters such as;
- Temperatures
- Pressure conditions
- flows
- Media
- Size: any restrictions on length and height
Örnalp Unozon designs tubular heat exchangers according to the European standard EN 13445 (PED) and the American ASME VIII Div1. We machine and weld titanium, acid-resistant steel, carbon steel, hastelloy, SM0254, duplex, superduplex, inconel and tantalum.

We specialize in titanium welding.
Titanium welding! Most of the time we work with homogeneous material, which is often both the best and most economically advantageous. Sometimes, however, other solutions are required, such as explosive bonding or loose lining, where a vessel is lined with a thin sheet of titanium. Titanium is difficult to weld and requires special skills and protected environments as the material changes if it comes into contact with oxygen during welding.
We weld according to standard EN ISO 3834-2 and all Örnalp Unozon welders are licensed to ensure a high and consistent quality of work.
